The new Bose Sport Earbuds Truly Wireless are slimmer and sleeker design than the QuietComfort buds, and a superior microphone to make calls. They are also sweat-resistant and come with a charging case.
Active Noise Cancellation
The Bose QuietComfort line is known for its excellent noise cancellation but the company also makes plenty of high-quality headphones and earbuds that don’t require or offer it. Its products typically occupy an expensive price and make use of top materials, but they’re also lightweight, sweat-resistant and comfortable enough to last for long listening sessions.
The flagship 700s are a fantastic example of this. They come with an upgraded eight-microphone (six for cancelling sounds, and two for picking voice) and eleven customizable ANC modes. You can hear the world around you, or block the world completely. They also have a “Conversation Mode” button that lets you temporarily pause your music to place calls or make a brief announcement.

The app allows you to set the ANC at three different levels, and switch on the hear-through mode for ambient noises.
They’re light for headphones that are designed to be worn for long periods of time. They have soft cushions that are comfortable over ears. The sound is vibrant and bright, with a solid bass response that is well-controlled. The treble isn’t as crisp as you’d find on top-rated rivals such as the Sony WH1000XM4 and Jabra Elite 85H, but it’s adequate for most music genres.
They also have an excellent microphone that allows hands-free calls and a voice assistant that does a great job of distancing your voice from background noise when you answer questions. The Bose Connect and Bose Music apps also let you adjust the audio settings and alter the EQ. The Bose voice, which informs you about things like battery status and whether you’re connected, sounds slightly robotic compared to the more natural voices found on the Sony and Jabra models.
Comfort
Comfort is among Bose’s strengths, regardless of whether you’re listening in an over – or on-ear headphone. The Bose headphones are usually well-padded and not too tight on the head. The Bose Sport Earbuds are smaller and sleeker than the company’s flagship QuietComfort Earbuds, making them ideal for working out and running. The earbuds have a battery life of up to five hours, which is enough for most workouts. The buds are water-resistant and come with built-in microphones to allow voice assistant integration. You can control the buds via the remote included or with the companion app. The app allows you to adjust settings for ANC and Bose’s Aware Mode.
Controls
The 700s don’t have physical controls on the ear cups unlike most of Bose’s headphones. Instead, you’ll find a touch panel in the front portion of the right earcup that can detect finger taps and headphones for gym swipes. Tap twice to play/pause, swipe up and down to change the volume and forward to skip tracks. A single tap can answer calls and the double tap will reject an incoming call.
The headset also lets you to toggle a mode called “aware,” which enables some sort of a view of your surroundings. This feature is helpful for people who need to be aware of their surroundings while listening music or making calls.
Another feature on the 700s is a motion detector that shuts off your headphones after a period of inactivity. It’s a great feature for those who forget to turn off their headphones or get distracted while using the headphones. You can alter the Auto-Off timer settings on your Bose 700 headphones through the Bose Connect app.
The app allows you to modify the features of your headphones, which include audio settings, noise cancelling levels, and voice prompt languages. You can also download updates for your Bose headsets. You may be asked to divulge some of your personal information in order to enable this however that’s normal for this kind of application. Bose’s headphones are well-suited for mobile use with the majority of models that are on and over-ear offering ample padding to ensure a comfortable fit. They’re also extremely lightweight and compact which makes them a great choice for travel. The only drawback to the Bose headphone line is that their wireless headphones do not block out as much ambient noise as their competitors.
